Concrete work we do in Franklin, TN

Superior Franklin Concrete does 16 kinds of concrete work in Franklin, TN and the cities around it, for homeowners, builders and businesses. Most calls start with cracks, a sinking slab or water pooling where it shouldn't, and most of that traces back to what's under the concrete, so we fix the base and the drainage along with the surface. Your price mostly moves with the size and thickness of the slab, how much old concrete comes out and gets hauled, how much work the ground needs and the finish you pick. The schedule turns on the permit, the weather on pour day and curing, the wait while concrete gains strength before it takes weight. Your free estimate spells out what's in it and what isn't.

  • Concrete driveway and front walkway with broad stepped slabs, stone retaining walls, dark rock beds, and lawn.

    Concrete driveway building

A new concrete driveway starts with the base under it, so we dig out, pack the ground and slope the slab to carry water away from your house.

  • Covered concrete patio with an outdoor kitchen, dining bar, lounge seating, and a modern black pergola.

    Concrete patio construction

Want a flat, solid spot for a table and grill? We pour patios sized to your yard, with a broom finish, a light texture that grips when wet.

  • Stamped concrete patio with a curved edge and dark gray rectangular patterns beside a house entrance.

    Stamped concrete services

Stamped concrete is pressed with patterns and colored to look like stone, brick or slate, for patios, walks and pool areas where plain gray feels too plain.

  • Modern concrete patio with large pale rectangular pavers beside a lawn, outdoor seating and a stone wall.

    Concrete sidewalk building

We build concrete sidewalks and front walks on a packed base, sloped so rain runs off, for homes and businesses that need a solid path to the door.

  • Curved concrete driveway leading to a white house, shaded by trees and bordered by lawns and landscaping.

    Garage floor concrete

A garage floor carries cars and heavy tools, so we pour it with rebar, steel bars that help hold the slab together, and slope it toward the door.

  • Stamped concrete patio with dark gray rectangular stone-pattern panels beside a green lawn and wooded yard.

    Decorative concrete

What counts as decorative concrete? It's color, exposed stone, borders and custom finishes on a slab, for homeowners and businesses who want a look that fits the building.

  • A large gray stamped concrete patio fills a fenced backyard, with lawn, garden beds, a tree, and outdoor chairs.

    Concrete retaining walls

We build poured concrete retaining walls to hold back a steep bank, with drainage behind them so water doesn't build up and push the wall.

  • A broad stamped concrete patio surrounds a home, with curved stone retaining walls and a circular built-in feature.

    Concrete floor installation

Need a concrete floor in a basement, shop or commercial space? We pack the base, pour the slab and finish it for how you'll use the room.

  • Concrete pool deck surrounding a swimming pool, with tan coping, steps, and a house patio at sunset.

    Concrete pool decks

We pour concrete pool decks with a textured finish that grips under wet feet, sloped so splash and rain run away from the pool and the house.

  • Concrete steps and a straight walkway descend through mulched garden beds, with grass and plants along the sides.

    Concrete steps construction

We build concrete steps for front entries, back doors and porches, forming each step to an even height so nobody catches a toe on a tall one.

  • A speckled concrete sidewalk leads to a dark entry door beside a stone wall, decorative metal trellises, and landscape lights.

    Slab foundation building

A slab foundation is the poured floor a house, garage or shop sits on, and we pack the subgrade, the ground under it, before we pour.

  • A tan stamped concrete driveway curves past a garage and landscaped beds beneath a large shade tree.

    Foundation installation

For builders and owners putting up a new house or addition, we pour footings and foundation walls to the plans and flag anything that's the engineer's call.

  • A pale concrete pool deck borders a blue swimming pool beneath a screened enclosure, with patio seating and a dining table.

    Concrete parking lot building

We build concrete parking lots for businesses and property owners, with slopes and drains planned first so water leaves the lot instead of sitting in it.

  • A broad smooth concrete driveway leads to a brick house with two white garage doors, bordered by trees and lawn.

    Concrete footings

Footings are the buried concrete that carries a wall, porch, addition or post. We dig them to the depth the plans call for and pour on firm ground.

  • A large two-story gray house has a raised covered deck above a concrete patio and steps down to the lawn.

    Foundation raising

Sinking slab or a foundation that's settled at one corner? We raise the settled section back toward level, then look at the drainage that often causes it.

  • A curved stamped concrete patio with a gray stone-like pattern extends beside a blue-sided house and black railing.

    Concrete cutting

We cut concrete cleanly with saws for doorways, plumbing trenches, damaged sections and tying new concrete into an old slab, for homeowners, builders and other trades.

Why people hire us for their concrete

I learned concrete on other people's crews and saw what goes wrong under a slab, so we run every job around these four habits.

  1. Ground and water before color

Before we talk finishes, I look at what your concrete will sit on and where the water runs, so the slab is built for that spot instead of a generic one.

  2. Estimates you can compare line by line

Every written estimate lists what's in it and what isn't, like tear-out and hauling, so you can set our bid beside another one and see what each actually covers.

  3. Tricky sites are our favorite

A steep bank, a tight entrance or an old slab that needs a clean cut are the jobs I like best, and they're often the ones other crews pass on.

  4. The reason behind every choice

If I pick a thicker slab, rebar or a different slope for your job, I'll tell you why before you sign, so you know exactly what you're paying for.

Our process from first call to final walk

Here's how a job goes from your first call to the last walk-through, and who you'll be dealing with at each step.

  1. Call or send the form

Call (615) 716-3053 or fill out our contact form and tell us what you're thinking about, whether that's a cracked driveway coming out or a new slab for a shop. We get back to you within one business day and set a time for me to come see the site.

  2. I look and write it up

I come out and look at the ground, the drainage and how the job fits your property, because those decide how the concrete holds up. Then you get a written estimate that spells out what's included and what isn't, like tear-out and hauling, free and with no obligation.

  3. Permit, prep and pour

Once you're ready, we sort out the permit side with the right local office and tell you if part of the job belongs to an engineer or another trade. Then I lead the crew as we dig out and pack the base, set forms, pour, finish and cut control joints, grooves that give the slab a planned place to crack.

  4. Walk it together

When the work's done, I walk the finished job with you. We go over curing and how long to wait before walking and then driving on your new concrete, and we clean up before we leave. If anything doesn't look right to you, that's the time to say so.

Tell us about the concrete job you have in mind

Franklin and the local rules for concrete work

Franklin is where we're based, and the calls we get here run from driveways, patios and front walks at houses to slabs and footings for builders. It's a city with a lot of shared outdoor space, like Pinkerton Park with its paved loop along the Harpeth River, the trail behind it up to the Fort Granger overlook, and the open acres of The Park at Harlinsdale Farm, kept for walking and picnicking.

If you're planning concrete work here, the City of Franklin's Building and Neighborhood Services Department issues building permits for new construction, additions, renovations, pools and most repair work, so that's the office to ask whether your job needs one. If your property sits in a historic preservation overlay, the city asks you to contact its Historic Preservation Planner before any construction permits are issued, and the city's construction page explains how. We work all over Franklin and the cities around it, and the first things we look at are the same everywhere, the ground and the water.

Questions about concrete work in Franklin, TN

Call (615) 716-3053

Mostly because bids cover different things, like tear-out, hauling, base depth and slab thickness, and the cheapest one often leaves base work out. The base is hidden the day we pour, so it's the first thing people cut to save money and the last thing I'd cut, because a slab on raked dirt settles right along with it. If the budget's tight, I'd simplify the finish before I'd thin the base.
